The organisation was founded by Nosakhare Agbonavbare Erhunmwunsee in Italy in 2003 with a target of reaching Nigerians in general and Edo people in particular. Nosa lived in Italy for several years as pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) planting parishes in Genova, Milan, Como, Alexandria, Brescia, Napoli, Torino, etc. Nosa visited most major cities in the 20 regions of Italy, and other Europeans countries i.e. France, Switzerland, Spain, Nederlands, Germany, etc. ministering and speaking against the evil vices.

On his return to Nigeria, Nosakhare Erhunmwunsee moved from church to church, village to village sensitizing parents, guardians and wards on the hazards of trafficking in persons, prostitution and irregular migration, thereby mitigating the increase and attendant death of Nigerian migrants in the desert and Mediterranean Sea.

NAME FOUNDATION promotes Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration and the ECOWAS protocol on free movement of persons though its activities including her radio/television programme – NAME CHRONICLES on Edo Broadcasting Service Television and Speed FM, Benin City, informing and educating Nigerians.

NOSAKHARE AGBONAVBARE ERHUNMWUNSEE

Born on October 6, 1965 in Benin City, Nosakhare Agbonavbare Erhunmwunsee is the President and Executive Director of NAME Foundation.

He attended Holy Cross Primary School and Edokpolor Grammar School, both in Benin City. He thereafter proceeded to the Institute of Journalism and the College of Technology, where he studied Journalism and Mass Communication respectively. For his leadership qualities, Nosakhare Erhunmwunsee was President, Students Representative Council of both institutions. He is a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Ibadan and Social Work from the University of Benin, and holds a Master degree in Theology from the Redeemed Christian Bible College.

Nosakhare Erhunmwunsee worked as Commercial Executive in Edo Broadcasting Service, Benin City, 1991-1997; Marketing Executive, Africa Factfile – a London based Magazine, 1997-1999; DBN Television, Lagos 1999-2003. He became the Marketing Manager of DBN Television Lagos in 2001 and left from that position to Europe in 2003 as missionary of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Nosakhare Erhunmwunsee travelled to Europe with the intention of visiting Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Netherlands to research, document findings and do an exposé on trafficking and prostitution, as that was the most prominent epidemic then.

He relocated to Torino after few months in Italy because that city was the epicentre of prostitution and trafficking in Europe. Nosakhare Erhunmwunsee lived in Italy for several years and was a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Turin, planting parishes in Genova, Milan, Como, Alexandria, Brescia, Napoli, etc. He travelled from city to city ministering in the 20 regions of Italy and visited France, Switzerland, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Germany, etc. speaking against the evils of human trafficking and the Nigerian involvement in the slave-like evil trade.

In the course of his investigation, he found out that nationals of other African countries with the aid of some dubious Nigerians, profited from the trade by using the airlines, airport officials and immigration personnel to transit people through the various airports, land and seaways using Nigerian passports, names and documents. He brought to fore the knowledge that several gangs doing the evil business exist in various countries of the world as the cartels or syndicates now have highly placed individuals amongst policy makers and governments globally. This allegation as it was called then has now come to public view in the present.

With his vast network of partners, pastors and friends worldwide, he has raised a team of men and women who are moving from church-to-church, state-to-state sensitizing parents, guardians and wards on the hazards of human trafficking and irregular migration, thereby defraying death of Nigerian migrants in the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea.

Consequently, on his return finally to Nigeria, what he saw and heard led him to move from church to church, village-to-village sensitizing parents, guardians and wards on the hazards of irregular migration, thereby helping to sensitize and reduce death of Nigerian irregular migrants. A compendium of his experience, work and on Benin migration will be out before the end of 2020.

As the organization slogan is, “Compassionately Involved”, Nosakhare Erhunmwunsee, host, NAME CHRONICLES, the only Radio/Television programme in Nigeria that highlights Human Trafficking, Irregular Migration, Migrant Smuggling and Moral decadence on Edo Broadcasting Service Television, Benin City, every Monday at 1:00 pm and on SPEED FM radio Benin City, every Saturday at 8:00 am, thereby promoting Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration by Nigerians.
